It is
amazing how social media these days has taken so much of what the fashion industry is about. LinkedIn has become such an important media exposure for
upcoming designers to interact with people in the fashion industry.
Opportunities are in the fingertips of the people who like to use these amazing
tools to make profits, in my own experiences with pages such as LinkedIn I can
relate and say I got the amazing opportunity to work with the big retail chain
JC Penney. Through meeting their head fashion-marketing advisor I was offered
the opportunity to intern for their window display department in south Florida.
It was such
a great experience to fly to their headquarters in Texas and being interview
for a job with such an amazing benefits. I got this opportunity by reaching and
sending a message to the head fashion-marketing advisor. I’m a fan of the store
and I’m very pleased to see the huge changes they are doing to be able to
approach younger community. JC Penney is usually a store reached by the older
people and by implementing designers and changing the displays of the areas a
lot of younger people are becoming regulars.
The
opportunities are out there. You are a click away of sending a message like I
did. Many people can reach others and “connect” through this social media
websites.
In my
opinion there is a very big margin of growth for these websites. To stay
competitive and growing they have to develop more features, as they are
becoming so needy I today’s world. I believe LinkedIn would be hiring directly
through the website and even probably have interviews directly online. The sky
is the limit and these giants are definitely here to stay. If we take in deep
consideration websites such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr are among the top
50 most visited websites GLOBALLY! They don’t only provide entertainment for
their users but they also facilitate them with different opportunities such as
networking, sharing of media and free exposure.
The Fashion
Industry needs these websites to stay running for many profitable reasons.
Facebook helps brands create a strong presence on their consumers; an example
is this page for designer Tory Burch.
They
interact with their consumers not only to show them what they have to bring to
the table but also to show consumers how they can relate to them. In this
example I was able to pull how Tory Burch asks its fans about their favorite
burger place, pretty smart huh? By consumers feeling relate to the brand not
only in the sense of style but on the different factors of the person who makes
the brand, consumers can feel identified by the brand ideology.
These websites are here to stay and it is a matter of time
for them to take over basic functions for hiring, finding jobs and other
related work fuctions. People think Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn are just for
fun? Well, start using it for the the profitable reasons!

Fashionable yours…

I understand why you would think Facebook and LinkedIn are here to stay. i believe that they keep up with the latest trends and constantly updating their sites to ensure that users do not become bored with their sites. Do you believe that if Twitter doesn't change that it will still be as popular as it is now?
ReplyDeleteI have found and applied for jobs using LinkedIn as well. It offers great opportunities for people who would probably never have gotten the chance. It is very helpful to see people in your field and learn how they achieved all that they have. Seeing the certain skills marketing professionals have listed on LinkedIn has given me the push to learn some of those things.
